Scores again at World Cup

Munoz scored one goal to go with two shots (one on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Tuesday's 1-0 win against DR Congo.

Analysis: Munoz was the decisive figure in Tuesday's 1-0 win over DR Congo, finishing clinically at the near post in the second half after Juan Quintero slipped the ball to Jhon Cordoba, whose movement in the area created the space for the Crystal Palace right-back to drive a first-time effort low into the net and send Colombia into the knockout rounds. The right-back registered two shots (one on target), two tackles and completed 47 passes across his 90 minutes, also seeing a goal disallowed for offside in the first half after he had already made his presence felt deep in Congo's half from the first minute. Munoz has now scored twice in two World Cup appearances, making him Colombia's top scorer at the tournament and his combination of defensive positioning, forward runs and clinical finishing from right-back makes him one of the most complete fullbacks remaining in the competition heading into the Group K decider against Portugal on June 27.

Scores in victory

Munoz scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) and one cross (zero accurate) in Wednesday's 3-1 victory versus Uzbekistan.

Analysis: Munoz opened the scoring in the 40th minute, finishing off the end of a fluid Colombian team move to give his side a deserved first-half lead. He was directly involved in two of Colombia's three goals and was one of the most dynamic players on the pitch from his right-back position throughout the game, contributing one cross, two tackles, three interceptions and three clearances in a qualitative two sides performance for the Cafeteros. Munoz's two-way influence sets a high standard for Colombia as they look to build on a winning start to the group stage.
