Analysis: Ahmed would start in two games for Qatar before earning a red card and a one-game suspension, ending his tournament a bit early after a group stage knockout. His second World Cup was similar to his first, as Qatar struggled to do much despite earning a point. That said, he would record nearly half the time on the field, with 123 minutes played in 2026 compared to the 263 played in 2022.

Analysis: Ahmed would only earn 12 touches in Thursday's match before he was sent off, a rough day for the Qatar left-back. This comes after he was deemed to have made a tackle as the last defender with a player through on goal, reversed after originally being shown a yellow card to go along with a penalty kick. This will make it an uphill battle for Qatar to qualify for a third-place spot, as they are already down a man against Canada, as they find themselves losing and they will now miss a crucial player against Bosnia. Sultan Al Brake is now a likely option to fill Ahmed's role against Bosnia, as he now hopes his World Cup won't end after a red card.
