Analysis: Guehi recorded a game-high 12 duels won while taking advantage of England's high possession to finish with an impressive 126 accurate passes against Ghana. It was his first start in the competition, as he was now preferred over the opening game's starter John Stones. While it was not a very challenging matchup, the clean sheet is a good sign for Guehi's chances of retaining the spot in a favorable meeting with Panama.

Guehi has been named in England's World Cup squad and is expected to anchor the back line after a rotational campaign in which the center-back changed clubs midway through the season.
